A heart-wrenching incident at BaruiPur Subdivisional Hospital has left staff and locals stunned, after a newborn baby girl was found abandoned in the hospital’s garden, just outside the emergency service area. The infant, only hours old, was spotted by hospital workers who immediately rushed to rescue her.

Nurses nurture infant with continuous monitoring
The baby was carefully taken into the hospital and admitted to the Sick Newborn Care Unit for urgent medical attention. Doctors confirmed that despite the cruelty she faced at the very beginning of her life, she is stable and healthy. Nurses have been keeping her warm, feeding her, and monitoring her constantly, treating her like their own.

Officers review footage trace possible culprits
Hospital authorities have informed BaruiPur Police Station, seeking an immediate probe into who could commit such a cruel, inhuman act. Officers have begun collecting CCTV footage and speaking to on-duty staff to trace those responsible.

Authorities denounce cruelty highlight infant’s safety
Calling the incident “deeply condemnable,” Hospital Superintendent Dr Dhiraj Roy said, “Abandoning a newborn, that too inside a hospital garden, is an act beyond cruelty. Thankfully, the baby girl is normal and doing well. We have already informed higher authorities.”

Emotional staff pledge unwavering support daily
The hospital has taken full responsibility for the child’s care and safety until further official instructions. Staff members, many visibly emotional, said they are determined to ensure the baby receives all the love and protection she was denied at birth.
