After nearly 3 years (mainly thanks to lockdown) we took the step and surrendered our baby girl's main identity!
Her Indian passport!
India will remain and still is a massive part of our lives. The country gave us our heritage and most importantly it gave us our daughter!
The process to surrender has been daunting with me having to explain basic things like why she doesn't have a naturalization certificate, why we adopted her, we are her parents although I haven't given birth to her or what the right to abode is to Indian officials, but it has allowed me to learn the process to help others looking to do the same.
